Our Story : 15 years of Welcoming Students Home

An authentic student housing in Lima Peru with heart and history, Casa Yllika was born in 2009 from a simple but powerful vision: to create a home away from home for international students, travelers, and interns.

Casa Yllika began with just one visitor and has since welcomed students from countries across six continents. The name «Yllika» means «A Good Energy Place» – a promise we’ve kept for over 15 years.

Over the past 15 years, Casa Yllika has become more than just student accommodation in Lima Peru. It’s where a French student learned to cook ceviche, where an American exchange student found lifelong friends from Germany and Spain, and where some even found their life partners. Countless students have discovered that Lima isn’t just a city to study in—it’s a city to fall in love with.

Today, Casa Yllika maintains the original warm, personal touch that made us special from day one. Our mission remains unchanged: to offer you a safe, unforgettable stay filled with priceless memories—where every day feels like an authentic South American journey.

Very nice accommodation in a great location! Casa Yllika is very cozy and quiet. The proximity to Universidad del Pacífico is especially convenient. The relationship with the hosts is very warm and familiar – you immediately feel welcome. The traditional cooking activities are a special highlight. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Casa Yllika from August to December 2025. The house is very welcoming, with a fully equipped kitchen, frequent room cleaning, and pleasant common areas. It's located about fifteen minutes by bus from PUCP, which is ideal.
The owners are very attentive and available should we have any problems.
The neighborhood is very pleasant, and there are many shops nearby.
Thank you so much for this wonderful stay; I highly recommend it!

I spent a semester at Casa Yllika, which was an excellent choice that I highly recommend. It's a 5-minute walk from the Pacífico beach and is very well-equipped. Ana is lovely and always there if you encounter any problems, which is very reassuring. Vivi, who takes care of the house daily, is also lovely and always available if you need anything. Finally, living with 12 other international students is a very fun experience and allows you to forge strong friendships.

Casa Yllika offers good accommodation with essential amenities. Ana and Vivi are always available to meet our needs. The house is about a 20-minute bus ride from the PUCP (Paris Central Public Transport), which is convenient, and is located in a very pleasant residential area of Lima!

Casa Yllika is a nice spot to stay, Ana and Vivi are very welcoming. The terrace is really nice and you will get to know other exchange students here. Jesus Maria is a calm neighbourhood with some good restaurants.

I stayed at Casa Yllika and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Jesús María, it's such a calm and peaceful neighborhood. The staff were incredibly kind and warm from the moment | arrived, always attentive and helpful with anything I needed during my time in Peru. It truly felt like a second family. I had a wonderful time studying in Lima, to which I attribute to my time at Casa Yllika. From the beginning, host Ana was warm and welcoming. She took time to get my classmates and I settled in the house and oriented to Jesús Maria.

There was everything I needed and more, a large kitchen with plenty of personal food storage, washer and clothesline (plus a dryer available), and importantly wifi that was fast and reliable.

The house was always clean and well cared for by wonderful caretaker Viviana. I was initially worried about sharing kitchen/living spaces/showers/etc. with other students, but it was so spacious and so frequently cleaned that this was never an issue.

Just two blocks away was a cute college area with cafes, restaurants, and a small park to exercise. The large Real Plaza Salaverry mall and highly rated Corralito restaurant was always just a brief walk away.

I appreciated how accessible Ana and Ivonne were, and frequently in communication if there were any updates we needed to know about. Ana even brought me to the hospital when I got sick, helping me navigate the whole process and making me feel so supported and cared for. Viviana, even took time to make me chicken soup so I didn’t have to worry about cooking when recovering.

Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Casa Yllika if you’re looking for a good place to be in community with other exchange students, in an amazing location, and with a strong support system if ever needed. ¡Gracias Casa Yllika!

Casa Yllika was home to me for 3 weeks earlier this year! I had such a great time staying here as I had everything I needed at my disposal. All the rooms were being used when I was staying here but I had sufficient pantry and fridge space the entire time. There were multiple bathrooms available which made it easier with so many of us present at once. There are two free washing machines and lines available to hang dry on the top floor, which were easy to use. The location is great too—I occasionally ran down to the beach and around the neighborhood and felt very safe. The grocery store and the mall is just a quick 10 minute walk from the place and there are always people walking about. Ivonne was super accommodating and always answered our messages so quickly. I had my husband stay with me the last night and she was very quick to get us an extra pillow and sheets. Definitely recommend staying here if you’ll be staying for an extended period of time.
